lyrics
LYRICS:
What will it take for us to seek meaning beyond ourselves?
To find purpose on this earth for our lives
That aligns ourselves’ with the vision of God
This vision goes before us
The call to follow precedes our selfish potential
Come to the alter humbly pray
That revelation will guide us
Prostrate submit to His name
Die to yourself
Deny your will
Surrender everything
Introspection unearths our futility
Desires conflict with the wisdom that time brings
For happiness misleads to pain
And consequence dictates control
Left unrestrained, to our own devices
Our minds run wild seeking out our destructive ends
Leaving a wake of hell behind
Who do you serve?
Look at your hands knit together in the womb
Were they designed for more than raising up idols?
Or conducting the praise of man?
Christ’s selfless love should lead us to the end of ourselves
Hear the words from your lips
Were you given a voice for pride and not declaring the honor of God?
Look at your hands knit together in the womb
Were they designed for more than raising up idols?
Can you hear His whisper or is it carried away
In your speech, in your praise
You've drowned out the voice of God x2
Surrender everything x3

Been listening to this since 2013. Eventually tried to track down a CD but now I'm starting to go digital. So, has 7 years of listening to this EP dulled the experience? Not even slightly. Amazing work. From Nathan's ghost beats on the snare, polyrhythmic measures and insane kick pedal work, Eric's unique tone on vocals and both Aaron and Josh's melodies and interesting structures. Just hope they get the chance to tour England soon. JAY DYER
